The target age group for Lublin’s youth policy are young people aged between 13 and 26. The policy covers those who study, work and live in Lublin – including all those who chase their dreams and those who spend their leisure time in the city! It’s based on the principles of diversity, subjectivity, open-mindedness, equality, community and safety, providing direction in terms of the needs of young people, and guidance for those working with them.
The most significant subjects that emerged during the research and public consultations included topics related to well-being and health protection, inclusive and environmentally-friendly public transport, educational quality, accessibility, and an innovative, sustainable labour market.
In a recent competition by Business Insider, Lublin was ranked as Poland’s second best city to live in – beating Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Kraków, and Białystok! The ranking reviewed economic indicators such as salaries and housing prices, as well as non-financial aspects. Some of the high scoring features for Lublin included good access to healthcare, low crime rates, good air quality and the availability of housing. The city has a lot to offer – including being a student city with a great environment for professional development, and as an attractive, well-connected place for businesses to invest.
