With about 5,000 visitors, the premiere of the “JobsHere” careers fair at Magdeburg‘s Unicampus came to a successful close on the evening of 22 June 2022. Among the guests were the Minister of Science of Saxony-Anhalt, Prof. Armin Willingmann, the Minister of Education, Eva Feußner, and the Rector of the University of Magdeburg, Prof. Jens Strackeljan.
The Careers Service of the University of Magdeburg would like to show interesting career options on site, because especially before graduation it is worthwhile to take a look at opportunities in the regional economy. On 22 June 2022, the campus of the university was therefore transformed, for a feel-good careers event with a festival vibe, street food, good music and innovative formats that brought students and companies together. 45 companies from Saxony-Anhalt introduced themselves to students in an informal atmosphere and presented job and career opportunities or internships. The event, which took place for the first time in this form, was created in cooperation between the Careers Service of the University of Magdeburg and the team of the Job Fair “Hierbleiben”, a careers event that takes place annually in the FestungMark in Magdeburg.
Every year, more than 2,000 well-educated graduates leave the University of Magdeburg. Many of them decide to pursue a career outside Saxony-Anhalt after graduating. The JobsHere career event is intended to show them again next year that there are also interesting career options in the region after graduation and that it pays to stay here.
