Families, residents aged over 65, and university students can all submit applications online via a digital platform. The new accommodation is located in MAS1 – Mix House, a state-of-the-art residence developed under the EU-funded PNRR–PINQuA programme to promote sustainable, inclusive and intergenerational living.

During the official presentation, the City’s Social Policy Councillor, the Rector of the University of Parma and the President of ACER Parma highlighted the shared commitment to addressing housing challenges and creating high-quality, accessible solutions for diverse groups of residents. A specific quota of units is reserved for university students, who will join a living environment based on solidarity, community engagement and mutual support.

Students living in MAS1 will participate in a structured programme of light community activities—such as assisting neighbours with everyday tasks or contributing to shared spaces—fostering intergenerational exchange while maintaining full personal autonomy. This model helps build a resilient, supportive community and ensures that students become active participants in neighbourhood life.
The MAS1 residence includes shared spaces for social activities, study and wellbeing, overseen by a community manager. It represents a key milestone in Parma’s broader urban regeneration strategy, aiming to revitalise the Molinetto district and enhance social cohesion.
Through this initiative, Parma confirms its commitment to a city–university alliance capable of generating social value, supporting students’ access to housing and strengthening the local community.
