The University of Málaga (UMA) will lend to the City Council an auditorium, as well as the lobby located in the adjoining building located in the Ejido campus in the city centre. The building will be for the exclusive use of the City Council when the construction of the new UMA Government Pavilion in the Teatinos Campus is completed.

This transfer is the first step towards the rehabilitation of these rooms by the Municipal Housing Institute, with the ultimate aim of converting them into a rehearsal space for the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra (OFM).

This collaboration agreement between UMA and the City Council develops a prior agreement signed by both administrations in 1999. In that agreement, the City Council ceded the land for the extension of the Teatinos campus and UMA undertook to cede the right of ownership, surface or use of the buildings of the El Ejido campus.

The spaces subject to the transfer drawn up by this new agreement refer, on the one hand, to the west wing of the Attached Government Pavilion building, a space of 712 square meters made up of the auditorium and the lobby, together with the halls and rooms that adjoin at any level. From the signing of this agreement, these spaces will be for the exclusive use of the City Council. The toilets and the entrance space to the building, with an area of 103 square meters, will continue to be shared between both institutions.

The agreement also includes financial commitments in terms of expenses for supplies, conservation, maintenance, etc., which will be assumed, once the City Council delivers the property to the OFM, by the OFM Consortium, which includes the council and the Board of Andalusia.
