The study shows improved public perception across several areas and, for the first time, measures trust in local institutions — private companies, the army, and the city hall received the highest scores. Traffic, road infrastructure, and cleanliness remain the most frequently cited complaints, though even these areas show a slight positive shift.

Key findings:

• young people remain the most optimistic: 9 out of 10 believe Timișoara is heading in a good direction
• trust increased most notably among people over 54
• public transport and sidewalk conditions were rated positively by most respondents
• satisfaction rose regarding hospitals, sports facilities, parks, and cleanliness
• trust in local media increased significantly

The presentation event brought together academic and local government representatives, including UVT Vice-Rector Prof. Irina Elena Macsinga, Dean of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work Marius Matichescu, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography Alexandru Drăgan, and Timișoara Deputy Mayor Paula Romocean.

The barometer was based on a survey conducted between June–November 2025, with a sample of 2,511 people and a margin of error of ±2%.

The findings underline that quality of life is a strategic resource, and that UVT remains an active partner in analyzing and sustainably developing the city.
