The Wintercircus was once a real circus, later becoming a garage before being abandoned for more than two decades. That has now changed with the opening of Wintercircus as a ‘technology temple’ for Ghent and Flanders. The newly refurbished facility provides workplaces and co-creation spaces for start-ups and scale-ups, meeting rooms, and an auditorium, ensuring that Ghent lives up to its name as European Capital of Technology.
But that’s not all…. Wintercircus is a hub of connection and wonder, where music, art, and technology seamlessly converge. The covered central atrium, is perfect for events and is open to the public. Wintercircus also offers a diverse array of dining options: from a cozy bakery to a charming café, a Japanese restaurant, and a rooftop bar with stunning city views. The impressive concert hall accommodates 500 people and features exceptional audio and visual effects for an unparalleled experience. More information about the Wintercircus can be found here.
‘Gentrepreneur’ goes from strength to strength!
In a significant stride towards fostering entrepreneurship among students, Gentrepreneur is thrilled to announce its growth and centralization of operations in the newly opened Technology Hub, Wintercircus. As the first of its kind in the Flemish educational landscape, the Gentrepreneur initiative has become the centre of expertise for all student-entrepreneurs in Ghent. All Ghent higher education institutions – Artevelde University College, HOGENT, Ghent University, KU Leuven – Ghent, Odisee University College and LUCA School of Arts have joined forces to provide student-entrepreneurship services under the Gentrepreneur banner, operating from their new base within the Wintercircus Technology Hub.
Student-entrepreneurs will receive clearer and even stronger entrepreneurial services, complemented by personal guidance tailored to their needs. Gentrepeneur will offer a diverse and extensive range of programmes, competitions, and events designed to foster innovation and collaboration. Additionally, all participants will join a warm community of students, researchers, and experts who are eager to support and inspire one another.
